Sink Bathing

One of the things I'm going to miss after we move back to our house (tomorrow!), is bathing Henry in Mom & Dad's extra-large sink. A few weeks ago Henry was in need of a quick bath before we headed out in the morning. I didn't feel like dragging out the baby bathtub for a quick scrub down.

The sink was clean and empty so I filled it up and plopped him in. He loved it and I discovered it was very convenient. He loves the water but when I bathe him on the counter everything in a two foot radius is soaked.

Putting him in the sink prevents that (or at least there isn't anything close to the sink besides counter top).

I also discovered that he will happily play in there while I sort the mail, pick up the island, or get a quick snack for the kids. Of course I keep a close eye on him, and immediately remove him from the sink if he tries to stand up, but in general he is pretty safe and happy.

Splish, Splash

Henry has learned to love baths! When he sees me dragging out his bathtub his face lights up. As soon as I place him in the water he starts kicking his legs and "miling" as Cooper would say. Now that he can sit up unassisted he loves to sit in the tub and kick and splash with his hands. Henry doesn't even seem to mind when his face gets wet.

Thanks Grampa for taking these pictures for me.

Bath Time

Cooper John loves bath time! It is probably his favorite activity of the day, followed closely by eating, climbing in his toy basket, and playing hide-and-seek. He can splash harder than any kid I've ever seen. When he is done taking a bath Mommy is soaked, the floor is soaked, the walls are soaked and Cooper is adorable. I never knew what other parents were complaining about when they said the kids destroyed the bathroom at bath time. The girls were always very calm in the bath.

Last night Cooper discovered a new game to play in the bath. He would bend over until his face went into the water. Most of the time he would either blow bubbles or lick the water. A couple of times he accidentally inhaled some of the water and then started coughing and looking at mommy with that "what did you do to me" look. I'm thinking he is going to like swimming in the pool this summer.
